1) Organization Status (Non-Profit)

Mary Nelson Youth Day Foundation, operating publicly as Mary Nelson Youth Center, is a New York not-for-profit corporation.
We are registered with the New York State Charities Bureau and recognized by the IRS as a charitable organization (EIN: 13-1837418).
Donations support our charitable mission to serve youth and families in our community.

2) Donations & Recurring Billing (PayPal/Cards/Checks)

  • Voluntary gifts: Your contribution is a voluntary donation to further our charitable purposes.
  • Payment methods: We accept online donations via PayPal and major credit/debit cards. We also accept checks by mail or in-person drop-off.
  • Recurring donations: If you enroll in a monthly or yearly recurring donation, you authorize us (and/or our processor, such as PayPal) to automatically charge your selected method on the stated schedule until you cancel.

  • Effective date & changes: Changes to your recurring amount, payment method, or schedule will typically take effect on the next billing cycle.
  • Designated gifts: If you designate a program, we will make reasonable efforts to honor your designation. If a program is fully funded or discontinued, we may apply funds to the area of greatest need to further our mission.

3) Refunds, Receipts & Tax-Deductibility

  • Refunds: Charitable contributions are generally non-refundable. If a donation was made in error, please contact us promptly; we will review on a case-by-case basis as permitted by law.
  • Receipts: Donors receive a confirmation email and/or PayPal receipt. Annual acknowledgments may be provided for recurring donors.
  • Tax status: Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor. Our legal name for receipts is Mary Nelson Youth Day Foundation, EIN: 13-1837418.
  • In-kind gifts: For donated goods/services, we typically acknowledge the contribution without assigning a monetary value; donors should consult their tax advisor regarding valuation.
